What Is Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI)?
Social Security Disability Insurance is a monetary safety net provided by the Social Security Administration to people with qualifying disabilities. Benefits are paid to individuals who have been in the workforce for a minimum number of years. Generally, you must have been employed for 10 years, with five of those years prior to the date you became totally disabled. For impaired children or disabled adults without a strong work history, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) may be an alternative option.
How Does the Process Work?
